Fusion
RTOS
The
next generation DSP architecture is based on the convergence
of traditional DSP and microcontroller functionality.
These new hybrid processors allow product designers to
create reduced cost solutions for applications that traditionally
require both technologies.
This convergence must also be mirrored in the software
that is written for these processors.
Traditional
embedded operating systems are not designed to take advantage
of the high speed architecture of DSPs. Our DSP
RTOS was designed from the ground up to target these new
devices. In
addition, it was designed to efficiently handle streaming
data, such as audio or video, found in most DSP applications.

Fusion
RTOS is a real time, preemptive, multitasking, priority
based operating system. It has been designed specifically
to take advantage of the high performance nature of DSPs.
Most functions are written in ANSI C, however time critical
functions have been optimized in assembly to take advantage
of the zero overhead looping and multiple execution units
present in most DSPs.
Fusion
RTOS has a very small footprint. It was designed
to reside within the restrictive memory requirements of
today's DSP software applications.
Fusion
RTOS is a royalty free operating system. It may
be purchased as a library or source code.
