Fusion PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol)

The Fusion PPP source code offering is designed for serial links and provides a method for transmitting Datagrams over serial point-to-point links.

Fusion PPP is comprised of three main components:

  • A method for encapsulating Datagrams over serial links

  • A Link Control Protocol (LCP) for establishing, configuring and testing the data-link connection

  • A family of Network Control Protocols (NCPs) for establishing and configuring different network layer protocols

The power of Fusion PPP is provided by the PPP encapsulation scheme, together with the PPP Link Control Protocol (LCP), an extensible option negotiation protocol that is able to negotiate a rich assortment of configuration parameters and provides additional management functions.
