Fusion
PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol)
The Fusion PPP source
code offering is designed for serial links and provides
a method for transmitting Datagrams over serial point-to-point
links.
Fusion PPP is comprised
of three main components:
-
A method for encapsulating Datagrams over serial
links
-
A Link Control Protocol (LCP) for establishing,
configuring and testing the data-link connection
-
A family of Network Control Protocols (NCPs) for
establishing and configuring different network layer
protocols
The power of Fusion
PPP is provided by the PPP encapsulation scheme, together
with the PPP Link Control Protocol (LCP), an extensible
option negotiation protocol that is able to negotiate
a rich assortment of configuration parameters and provides
additional management functions.
